About
Château Sinnet
Winery...
In the Highland Valley of the Santa
Lucia Mountain Range, lies Château
Sinnet's Jolon Vineyards. For many years, the vineyard
was owned and grown by one of California's most reknowned growers,
Buster Goodwin. Buster managed Almaden's extensive vineyards for over 17 years while
acting as a worldwide consultant to the wine industry...
When he decided to plant and
grow his own vines, he chose the newly established San
Antonio Valley AVA, located in the southern most portion of
Monterey
County.
The land provided an
exceptional terroir
from its rich shaly loam soils and its invaluable day to
night climate changes and breezes.

For Buster, if a
varietal was not meeting up to his high expectations and
meticulous quality demands, he would remove any such ‘less
than perfect’ vines and plant anew.
Extremely few growers ever do
this because of the prohibitive costs involved.
Some years ago Buster sold the vineyard
to Gary Sinnet
while continuing to oversee and manage the 100 plus acres of
vines with the same enduring passion for unfailing quality.
To that end,
Château Sinnet Winery and Vineyards still
grows selectively low yields of six varietals that are
carefully nurtured and hand picked upon maturity.
Château Sinnet
also sells grapes to a number of prominent
California
wineries who repeatedly state that Jolon Vineyard grapes are
the best of the best, year after year.
Our six Jolon
Estate varietals include Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon,
Cabernet Franc, Sangiovese, Syrah and Zinfandel.
Of our own private
vintages, the following are currently available:

|
Merlot:
Our Merlot is
bigit has been sold to award-winning wineriesand it recently took
the gold at the Florida State Fair International Wine Competition. It is our number
one selling grape.
Cabernet
Sauvignon:
Considered the noblest of all grapes, much of our
Cabernet is sold to award-winning wineries. It has recently been selected out of
hundreds of wines to be poured at the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver, Canada.
Zinfandel:
We grow our Zin in the old-world style and sell to very prominent wineries that are
convinced it is the best in the state and the best in Monterey County. We
have bottled it both dry and with residual sugar in a port style. It is always a
smash hit either way.
(
and our flagship blended wine . . .
)
Red
Eyed Monkey:
a unique blend of carefully
selected and hand-picked grapes.
A superb unity and
balance is achieved among our grapes in order to bring forward
the
best characteristics of up to six of our
estate varietals integrated into this blend.

A Personal Note from Gary Sinnet...
When I first started Château Sinnet Tasting Room in Carmel
Valley Village, I wanted it to be a fun-filled place for
people to enjoy, with rock-n-roll music and a unique motif.
After 11 years, I am happy with what it is ( being outside
of the main stream ). We make great wines and have great
times!
My pouring staff is Sunny, Joe and Brian
who all love their work and you folks as their guests. As
for me, win, lose or draw, I’m having a ball. (I sincerely
hope you are too, no matter how tough times are...hope
springs eternal.) “Never relent nor despair, no matter how
much life’s unfair.”
